Every year we celebrate Europe Day on the 9th of May. Thousands of people participate in visits, debates, concerts and other events during this day to raise awareness of the European Union. At the Lycée Professionnel Sainte Croix-Saint Euverte, we celebrated this day after the school holidays from May 14th as part of the program “Joli Mois de Mai” organized by the Center Val de Loire Region and the Information Centers Europe Direct (CIED). The idea is to make “live Europe” through all the initiatives that celebrate Europe, under a common label – The Beautiful Month of Europe (Joli Mois d’Europe – JME).
For this occasion, an exhibition on the European Union is present at the high school CDI during the month of May. We also organized workshops with the help of the association “Young Europeans Orleans” who presented to several classes the organization of the European Union and organized quizzes and fun activities with our students. We shared some of the experiences we had during our trip to Romania under the Erasmus + project “Sharing the world: disability and displacement” and talked about the Erasmus + program in general.
