REFUGEE LOOKING FOR A JOB

 COUNTRY of DESTINATION : FRANCE

 GENERAL INFORMATION

 Number of refugees present in the country : 335.000 refugees visa delivered in 2017

Nationalities/ethnic groups present in the country (in percentage) : Spanish 7 %, Italian 10 %, Portugese 10 %, Other European nationalities 13 %, Algerians 14 %, Marocans 11 %, Turkish 4 %, Asians 7 %…

Languages spoken in the country : French (English can be a plus, but French is obligatory)

Length to get the refugee status : 1 – 2 years

Attitude towards existing foreign communities/minorities in the country : people are quite open, although the refugees waves created tensions in certains parts of France

Access to healthcare : easy / average / complicated / very complicated – acces to healthcare is ensured by the government for EVERYONE

 THE JOB MARKET:

 In what domain we can easily find a job : IT (informatics), mechanics, electronics, logistics, industrial domains in general

What diplomas are the most required : technician or engineer

How difficult is the language of the country : French is quite difficult to learn, but it is obligatory for those living in France

Can we find a job if we speak English but not the native langage : only in Paris, in multinationals

 INTEGRATION

 What is the general attitude towards refugees : People are less welcoming than in other countries but they do not completely reject refugees

Are the people in the country welcoming to strangers : average attitude, not always warm

Are there any associations/organisations that can help (Red Cross or others) : yes, many associations such as the Red Cross help refugees in France

What is the official attitude of the government about the migrants : welcoming but in a limited number
